What a Project does
Open Projects and create one with a name, an optional description and an accent colour. Then assign Experiences to it. Three things follow:
- Your dashboard groups by Project, with a collapsible section per Project and a "Not in a Project" section for anything unassigned.
- Stats and Audience roll up per Project, which is how you compare a wing against a wing rather than a page against a page.
- Answers can be shared across a Project. A block set to Project scope recognises the same visitor across every Experience in the group: they tell you their name at the entrance and the café already knows it.
Projects are free on almost every plan
On Free, Starter and Growth, Projects are unlimited and cost nothing. Create as many as the grouping is useful for: there is no meter and no upsell.
Enterprise is the exception, and the reason is billing rather than capacity: on Enterprise a Project is a property, and each property is a paid slot. The base Enterprise plan includes one.
Adding a property on Enterprise
- 1
Open Projects
The header shows a meter: how many of your properties are in use.
- 2
Press Add a Property
At the limit, the New Project button opens this dialog instead.
- 3
Confirm the price
On the web an extra property is $99/mo, or $990/yr on annual billing. The charge is prorated against your existing subscription, so a property added mid-month costs the remainder of that month.
- 4
Create the Project
Your limit updates immediately, and the new Project behaves exactly like any other: the difference is on the invoice.
Example
The Bellhaven Hotel, three sites on one bill
The group runs three hotels. Each becomes a property: Bellhaven Central, Bellhaven Riverside, Bellhaven Airport. Every hotel has its own rooms, its own Markers and its own analytics, and one person signs in to see all three.
Enterprise at $299 covers the first. Two more at $99 each brings it to $497 a month, against three separate plans at full price. Room Experiences sit in their hotel's Project, so a guest who gives their name at check-in is recognised in the bar of the same hotel, and is a stranger at the other two, which is the correct behaviour.
Changing and deleting Projects
Manage Experiences on a Project card is a checkbox list of everything you have built, marking anything already in another Project. Moving an Experience is one tick.
Deleting a Project does not delete anything inside it. The Experiences are unassigned and stay live, but any answers that were shared at Project scope lose their grouping, so a visitor recognised across the group stops being recognised. That is the one irreversible part, and the confirmation says so.
Do I need Enterprise to run several locations?
No. Projects work on every plan and cost nothing below Enterprise. What Enterprise buys is per-property billing and the scale that comes with it: the grouping itself is free.
Can an Experience be in two Projects?
No. Each Experience belongs to at most one, which is what makes the rollups add up.
What happens to a property I stop using?
Delete the Project and reduce your property count from the same screen. The subscription is adjusted from that point forward.
Why are some of my Experiences missing from the Project rollups?
Anything unassigned has no Project to roll up into. Stats gathers it in a "Not in a Project" row at the end of By Project, and Audience leaves it out of its Project totals and says so, with a link to assign it.
Group what belongs together.
