Coming from 42Kites

Signing in for the first time

Your account moved with everything in it. What you do not have yet is a NearField password, so the first sign-in is a one-time step: get a link, choose a password, and from then on it works like any other account.

If you have an email from us with a sign-in link, open it. It takes you to a page where you choose a password, and then straight into your dashboard. If you do not have one, or the link has expired, use Forgot password on the sign-in screen. It works whether or not you have ever set a password.

The first sign-in, step by step

    1. 1

      Go to the sign-in screen

On the web, or in the NearField Builder app on an iPhone or iPad. Either works.

    2. 2

      Choose Forgot password

Enter the email address your 42Kites account used. You will see Check your email, with We sent you a link to reset your password underneath.

    3. 3

Open the link and set a password

Use at least eight characters. Links last a day and each one works once, so open it on the device you want to sign in on.

    4. 4

      Sign in and look around

You land on your dashboard, which is where your Experiences live. Your cards are under Markers.

    The ways in

An emailed link that signs you in with no passwordNoNo
Apple sign-in exists only inside the app. If you start that way on an iPhone, set a password too so you can also sign in on a computer.

If you press Google and get An account with this email already exists, that means the account is a password account. Sign in with the password first, then link Google from your account settings.

The authenticator app does not carry over

42Kites offered a one-time-code app as a second factor, switched on and off by a support ticket with a one-business-day wait. NearField has no two-factor authentication today. If you were using it, you are signing in with a password alone now, so use a long one and store it in a password manager.

On an iPhone or iPad the app can be locked behind Face ID or Touch ID after you are signed in. That protects the app on a shared phone; it is not a second factor on the account.

    Your Support PIN

The Support PIN carried over as a concept. You will find it on your Account page, hidden behind an eye toggle. Quote it when you contact us and we can confirm we are talking to the account holder without a game of twenty questions.

First things to check once you are in

    • Your organisation name, contact name and phone on Account. These appear in emails and on a Save Contact block.
    • Your brand colours and logo, under Brand Defaults on the same page.
    • Your plan badge, so you know which blocks you have.
    • Notifications, if you want a submission to reach your phone. Nothing is emailed to your team, so this is the channel that actually reaches you.

Nothing arrives when I ask for a reset link.

Check spam, then confirm the address. If you have changed email since you signed up with 42Kites, the old address is the one on the account. Tell us and we will move it.

Can my whole team have logins?

Not yet. Everything sits under one login, with no seats, invites or roles. A shared password is the only way for a second person to get in today.

Do my Experiences stay live while I sort this out?

Yes. Published Experiences and the cards pointing at them work whether or not anyone is signed in.

Not sure which email address your 42Kites account used? Ask us rather than guessing.
