Waiver Action

The digital waiver, signed at the door.

A visitor taps the Marker, reads your terms on their own phone, types their name and agrees. No clipboard, no tablet on a stand, no app. And once they have signed, your whole space knows it - so nobody signs the same waiver twice.

    Liability waiver

I acknowledge that climbing carries inherent risks, including falls and equipment failure. I confirm that I am physically fit to participate and that I will follow all posted rules and staff instructions…

How it works on a Marker

Two fields for you, three taps for them.

The Waiver Action needs your agreement text and nothing else. Everything below is a default you can leave alone.

    01

    Paste your terms.

The agreement text goes straight into the Action. It renders in a scrollable panel on the visitor's phone, so a long waiver does not swallow the page.

    02

    They read, type, agree.

One text field for their name, one checkbox, one button. The button stays disabled until both are done, so nobody agrees by mis-tap.

    03

    It remembers.

The Marker shows 'Signed by Dana' and the date from then on. With shared scope switched on, every other Marker in your space knows too.

    What is actually recorded

    A consent record, described honestly.

Each acceptance stores three things: the name the visitor typed, the moment they agreed, and a fingerprint of the exact text on screen when they did. That last one matters more than it sounds - it means editing your terms next season can never quietly change what somebody agreed to last season.

What it is not: a notarized signature or a qualified electronic signature. We would rather say that plainly here than have you find out from a lawyer.

    • Your agreement text, as long as it needs to be
    • The heading and the button label
    • Signed once for your whole space, or once per Experience
    • A push to your phone the moment someone signs
    • An optional phone verification before signing
    • Every signature on the visitor's timeline, exportable from your Audience

    Verified Profiles · Growth

A signature attached to a confirmed number.

You can ask a visitor to confirm their phone number with a one-time code before the waiver appears. One text, one code, once - and from then on any device that verifies that number is the same person, so the signature follows them through a new phone or a cleared browser. Numbers are scoped to your space, masked in your dashboard by default, and deleted when a visitor asks.

One example, all the way through

A climbing gym on a Saturday morning.

A NearField Marker on the counter of a climbing gym

    Climbing and fitness gym

One waiver, valid all season, at every door.

    Front counter
A Marker beside the card reader. New climbers sign while the desk pulls a harness, instead of hunching over a clipboard behind a queue.
    The bouldering room
The same waiver on the wall Marker, with shared scope switched on. A member who signed at the counter in March sees 'Signed by Dana' and walks straight in.
    Youth programs
A second Waiver Action with its own terms, on its own Marker, kept separate from the general one. Different text, different fingerprint, different record.
    The manager's phone
'Notify me' on, so a signature buzzes through with the waiver name and the signer. Nobody has to watch a screen to know the room is covered.

At the end of the season, every signature is on the visitor's timeline in your Audience, with the date and the text fingerprint, ready to export. The clipboard never comes back out.

The same setup fits kayak and paddleboard rental, trampoline parks, axe throwing, medispas and injectables, salons, workshops and volunteer days. See the fitness studio guide for what else belongs on the same Marker.

    Put it on a wall

One tile at the door beats a stack of paper.

Put a Marker where the clipboard used to live, and another wherever people get in without passing the desk. Any of them can be re-pointed later without replacing the tile.

A single Marker is $29, and the Intro 3-Pack is $49 for three. Every Marker carries NFC and a printed QR on the same tile, so nobody is stuck. Ships in 2 business days - sold and shipped from the US.

Questions people ask about digital waivers

Is this a legally binding electronic signature?
It is a consent record, not a notarized or qualified e-signature. Each acceptance stores the signer's typed name, the time they agreed, and a fingerprint of the exact agreement text they saw - so editing your terms later can never blur what an earlier visitor actually agreed to. Ask your own counsel whether that record meets your requirements.
Does a visitor have to sign again at every Marker?
Only if you want them to. Switch on 'signed once, valid across your whole space' and a member who signed at any Marker stays signed at all of them - one gym waiver for the season. Leave it off and each Experience asks for its own signature.
Do visitors need an app or an account?
No. They tap the Marker, read the terms on their own phone, type their name, tick the box and agree. Nothing to download, no login, and the page remembers them so it never asks twice.
How do I know when someone has signed?
Switch on 'Notify me' and your phone gets a push carrying the waiver name and the signer. Every signature also lands on that visitor's timeline in your Audience, where you can read and export it.

Paste your terms and see it running.
